Jose "Djedjei" Rosa, 77 years old, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, peacefully left this world on Friday, October 27, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at his home. Born in Brava, Cape Verde Islands, Djedjei was the son of the late Jose DaRosa and Laura DosReis.

For 48 years, Djedjei was the loving husband of Edith Rosa, a partnership that was filled with devotion and shared moments of joy. He was a dedicated father to his daughter, Jessie Rosa, and his sons, Joey and Christopher Rosa. His family was his pride and joy, and his love extended to his 3 beautiful granddaughters, 2 grandsons, and 1 great grandson, whom he cherished beyond measure.

Djedjei's life was a testament to love, family, and a deep connection to his roots. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and cherished memories. He was the youngest of four siblings, survived by his brother Joao of Virginia, and his sister and brother, Alberto and Maria Laura, both of Brockton. Djedjei also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and godchildren who held a special place in his heart.

Djedjei's life took a beautiful turn after his retirement from Triangle Wires. With more time on his hands, he immersed himself in the things he loved most. His passion for gardening left an impeccable mark on his home and those fortunate to witness the beauty he nurtured. His nimble fingers danced on the strings of the cavaquinho as he played old Cape Verdean mornas, filling the air with melodies that stirred the soul.

But perhaps Djedjei's greatest gift was his ability to weave unforgettable tales of Cape Verde. His storytelling painted vivid pictures of the land he held dear, and he shared these stories with family and friends, leaving them with a piece of his heart.

Djedjei's love for his family and friends was boundless and immeasurable. His warmth, kindness, and generosity will forever be etched in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He touched the lives of many, leaving a legacy of love and unity.

Calling hours in honor of Jose "Djedjei" Rosa will be held on Sunday, November 5, at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, from 4 pm to 7 pm.
His funeral will be held Monday, November 6, 2023 beginning at 10am in the funeral home followed by a Christian Burial Service at 11:30 am at the Lincoln Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Smithfield Ave, Lincoln, RI. Djedjei will find his final resting place at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence.

As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we remember the love he shared and the memories he created. Djedjei's spirit will forever reside in our hearts, and the impact of his presence will be cherished for generations to come. May he rest in eternal peace.
